MP teachers paid below MNERGA workers

Social activists and intellectuals are rejoicing that finally Right to Education has becomeapplicable(atleast on paper, they are very much hopeful that this pathbreaking act will do a world of good for millions of education starved children in India. But the government of Madhya Pradesh has some other plans, as it has found School education of least importance, they may use populist measures to lure students into the schools but the way teachers are handled(or manhandled)here doesnot emit much hope. Already there are a number of "species" of teachers in this state whose payscales varies from tens of thousands to a meagre several hundred rupees, and to add to this enigma the SEMI GOVERNMENT SCHOOL teachers here are paid less then MNREGA workers, whereas the govt pledged to give them the same salary and privillages as enjoyed by govt teachers in an act passed by it in 1978, when the government tookover the then private educational institutions. But in 1996 government suddenly revoked its decision and since then these unfortunate GURUS are paid only 50% of the fourth pay commision. The forum of these ill-fated teachers went to the court against the govt's decision, and won the case, not once but more then a dozen times both from the High court and the Supreme court. But the govt is not ready to listen to anybody and the cursed teachers met just "Taarikh par taarikh". Today those teachers are literally in diar straights cursing the day they chose the so called devine professin of being a teacher. Some can't send their children for higher studies, others can't get their kins married and while some others have no roof over their head. All this and more reveals the story which follows in the scanned image of a media report regarding the plight and pain of these doomed teachers...
