Golden day in Indian sports

After more than a century the day has finally come, the dream for an individual Olympic gold medal has finally materialised. This day is also significant because, a gold medal is won by a nation of the second largest population in the world after a draught of 28 long years. Abhinav Bindra has given every Indian a reason to smile and to be proud , but lets hope that this is just a beginning and we are not going to stop here and the number of medals against our name is going to be in two digits this time for sure. I think this day marks a turning point in the history of Indian sports. The irony of this day is that the much talked about cricket has once again let us down, and a game which is very low profile has brought us such a big victory. I am pretty sure that this will make the people and government understand that there are so many games which need to be played, looked after and nurtured.
